I'm glad that Kotlin is rising in popularity, especially with it's use for Android development. This book does a good job of introducing the Kotlin programming language as it takes you through the course of developing an Android app. If you're an Android developer and you want to start developing with Kotlin, this book is not a bad place to start (since it's only one of very few Android/Kotlin tutorials available at the time of this writing). However, this book seemed like it was rushed to be published because it felt quite unorganized throughout. It seems like the author didn't care to explain a lot of what is being shown in the book in order to make it easier for himself. I really think this book will get better in the next few editions down the line.

There's a distinct shortage of good reference material on Kotlin, and I would have to include this unfinished little manual. There are so many profound grammatical errors (to be found on just about EVERY page) that it's truly difficult to take this book seriously. The content lacks organization and is extremely brief, in many areas, simply regurgitating the same one line explanations that can be found in the online documentation.

Highly recommended for Kotlin beginners with some knowledge of Java and Android Studio. I follow the book as well as the free digital edition sent by Antonio (with updated texts), so far so good, and the examples worked! The book project is the same "Weather Project" in Google Java Android Studio Development course, which was much 'painful' compared to this Kotlin version.Only regret is it is still much OO style, little Functional programming except (Chap13) Lambda Expression, none on Monadic style with Kotlin.

When Trisha Speed Shaskan was a girl, she wanted to become a superhero. Her mother gave her a Wonder Woman costume. Her dad crafted her a tiara and bracelets out of metal to match. Trisha imagined she could fight evil, fly an invisible airplane, and get anyone to tell the truth. While she didn’t grow up to be Wonder Woman, she still uses her imagination to write stories and to teach creative writing. Trisha has taught creative writing to children and adults for thirteen years. She has published 26 books for children, and more are forthcoming. She has an MFA in creative writing from Minnesota State University, Mankato. This story is super cute! It helps children learn a little better with beatiful and vivid pictures, the words are perfect and easy to understand, and it teaches about math in a fun and inviting way. As a teacher, I fully recommend this story for kids!
